Day 27 of my online food and exercise journal!!!

Even though I decided that today was my "day off" from exercise, I still did bits and pieces of movement while I was training clients and in between appointments.  I always feel so much better when I get my blood flowing and heart pumping first thing in the morning.  It sets the tone for the rest of my day.

6:30 am: I had a
Perfect Foods Lite bar (Cranberry Crunch) as I drove to Beverly Hills to train a client.  I also made sure to take my morning dosage of Nopal Cactus pills.  I bought them from Whole Foods and have been taking them on and off for about 2 years. These pills nutritionally support: blood sugar, insulin sensitivity, cholesterol levels, bowel and immune system functions and are a timed-release of nutrients.  While these valid claims aren't approved by the FDA, I can attest that I notice a huge overall difference in the way I feel when I take them.

8:10 am: I had another client at 9:15 so I hopped on the treadmill and ran for 10 minutes to get my blood moving.

8:45 am: I stopped at Peet's Coffee in Hollywood on my way to train another client and got a decaf iced coffee with a splash of soy milk.  I ate a few ENERGY NUGGETS from SunRidge Farms (calorically dense but an amazing superfood!) as I drove and sipped my coffee through a straw (I drink almost everything through a straw to avoid staining my teeth ).

9:15 am: I did a lot of demonstrations for my client and totally broke a sweat from these new exercises I just created for her.  Serious stabilizing muscles and core work!!! I love it!

12 noon: After my 9:15 client, I had an appoinment at 11 in Santa Monica.  THEN I had another appointment in Venice Beach and snacked on two 120 calorie bags of EVERYBODY'S NUTS! Pistachios (the salt and pepper flavor, sooooo good!).  I didn't have time to stop and get food before my 12:15 appointment so I made sure not to skip my every-few-hours calorie consumption.

3:00 pm: As soon as I got home I had a small container of goat's milk yogurt mixed with cinnamon and stevia.  I added about 3/4 cup of Optimum Slim cereal and a few blackberries to the bowl.  I also had 2 pieces of the gluten free bread from Julian Bakery (each one 3 inches in diameter).  I added one teaspoon of whipped Earth Balance on each slice and sprinkled cinnamon, stevia, and flaxseed meal on top.

6:15 pm: After I got home from training another client, my mom (who is still visiting from out of town) was happy to have a chicken salad and cornbread from BANDERA waiting for me.  I am a cornbread ADDICT and I was totally craving comfort food after my long day of running around all over LA.  I had a small serving of the salad with chicken breast and 2 small pieces of cornbread.  To die for!

8:30 pm: I had 2 kamut cakes (like rice cakes but 1/3 of the calories and carbohydrates) with whipped cream cheese and wild smoked salmon slices as I sat down to blog about my Tuesday.  So delicious!

*I had 3.5 liters of Fiji water today.

Cactus Pills

Like the yellow baby carrots listed in one of your earlier posts, I never knew anything about cactus pills. This is a great site for learning about new and better things for one's body. Everybody's nuts - that's a great name for that particular product. What a hoot!
