Day 14 of my online food and exercise journal!!!

I am happy to say that I stayed committed to my (new) New Year's resolution to add more relaxation into each and every single day. Today I did my first yoga class in weeks!  No wait, months!  It was actually more like a flexibility enhancement class.  It calmed my mind and soothed my body after we did 10 flights of stairs in Mission Possible™ in Santa Monica.  Some other exciting news: I have discovered a ROCKIN' new FROZEN YOGURT place called YOGURT STOP in West Hollywood.  I'm HOOKED! Read below...

7:15 am: I had scrambled egg whites and a cup of instant oatmeal from Whole Foods (in which I added flaxseed meal, blueberries, a tablespoon of whipped Earth Balance, cinnamon, a splash of almond milk, and 2 packets of stevia).  I added hot water to the oatmeal because I do not own a microwave (I avoid using one as much as possible because it zaps the nutrition in food).

8:45 am: Mission Possible™ began and we did 10 flights of stairs today!  It took about 45 minutes just to do the stairs and we ended the Mission™ by doing a BUNCH of core work and stretching.  Everyone is getting pumped for the SUPER MISSION on the 31st!

10:30 am: I got home just in time to make an Isagenix shake before the flexibility class at 11:45.  Have you memorized my recipe yet??? If not, here it is: two scoops of the Isagenix vanilla protein powder, 8 oz. of water or almond milk, a tray of ice cubes, two tablespoons of bee pollen, about 5 dashes of cinnamon, 4 packets of stevia, 4 oz. of Mona Vie juice, and two tablespoons of flaxseed meal.

11:45 am: The flexibility class with Cam at the Sports Club LA (where I teach Spinning) was EXACTLY what my higher self ordered!  My body has been asking for a break like this class because I have been exerting so much energy and not allowing enough time to relax, repair, and rejuvenate.  I have turned over a new leaf... again!  I used to do yoga all the time and I'm excited to "reincorporate" it into my lifestyle.

2 pm: I had 6 oz. of salmon, green beans and baby carrots sauteed in lemon juice and olive oil with 1/2 cup of quinoa cooked in vegetable broth.

5:15 pm: After I had finished training a client, I took her to this new frozen yogurt place called YOGURT STOP in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd.  They have the most delicious no-sugar-added frozen yogurt I have EVER tasted!  You pump it yourself and add your own toppings!  They only charge 39 cents per oz!  So reasonable!  If you know me, you know that I am not a fan of Pinkberry.  YOGURT STOP claims that their yogurt is very healthy for you per the live active bacteria cultures in each bite.  I got a small container of the no-sugar-added vanilla and the low fat peanut butter.  I added almonds and carob chips. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!  You HAVE to check this place out!  I love it and can't wait to go back!  Their logo cracks me up. The owners are super nice and the atmosphere is clean and fresh!

8:30 pm:
I had chicken breast in a rich tomato sauce with roasted root vegetables (very easy to make!) with a small side of brown rice pasta with olive oil and white truffle sea salt on top.

*I had 5 liters of water today.

Oatmeal

That bowl of oatmeal looks absolutely delicious! I'll have to whip up one of those. Oatmeal is a food I consume every day (even during the summer). It's one of my all-time healthy favorite foods!
