The importance of balance
To truly master a balanced and healthy lifestyle, you have to master exactly that – balance. It’s not enough to make a change like banishing one food group completely from your life or to only eat one kind of thing for a week straight and the main reason is simply because you will ultimately get bored. And then when you do get bored and try just a small helping of the “forbidden fruit” (or carb… or dairy…) your body doesn’t know what to do with it and revolts on you.
It’s much more effective to get a handle on your portions. Allowing yourself to fulfill your cravings will make you crave them way less and since you have control over your portions – fulfilling the cravings when they do come won’t spell diet disaster. |

Moderation vs. Deprivation!
| I cannot agree with you more! Variety is the spice of life! Two bites of chocolate cake taste the same as a whole piece of chocolate cake. Allow yourself to enjoy the foods you love in small portions. Eating 5 small meals a day is ideal. That way you can truly have a little bit of everything! :) |
